The city of Tarazona has an important historical architectural heritage, with churches, mosque, sinagoge and palaces. Tarazona known as Turiaso during the Roman era, become a muslim city in 8th century, was conquered in 12th century by  the Kingdom of Aragon and became the seat of the diocese of Tarazona.  The city’s population was diverse, and Christians, Jews, and Muslims lived together. The mix of cultures and religions is evident in the local architecture; the cathedral itself was rebuilt in Mudéjar style.  Near the city, we will visit Bodegas Bordejé in the fields of Ainzón, a winery that was founded in 1777.  Since that, date wine and cava has been produced by this winery with the highest quality.

After the lunch in the winery, we will go to Veruela Abbey, the first Cistercian Monastery established in the Kingdom of Aragon. The great buildings, including church, monastery, house, and cloister, constructed at different times and in different styles, surrounded by a wall that dates back to feudal times, present a beautiful appearance.  The visit includes the Wine Museum which is situated in the aljibe (water tank) of the Abbey.
